Introduction
Almus is a private AI journal that helps you capture memories, reflect with care, and discover meaningful patterns over time. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use Almus.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to provide and improve Almus. This may include:
- Account and contact information, such as your email address and basic account identifiers.
- Onboarding and preference information, such as your name, journaling goals, reminder choices, and profile preferences.
- Journal data you choose to save, including encrypted entries, metadata, images, tags, and related journal structure.
- Usage, device, payment, notification, and diagnostic information needed to operate the app, process subscriptions, send reminders, troubleshoot issues, and keep Almus reliable.
How we use information
We use information to operate Almus, sync your journal across your devices, personalize prompts and reflections, send reminders you choose, provide support, process payments, improve reliability, detect abuse, and protect the security of the service.
Private journal and encryption
Your private password is created and kept on your device. Your journal content is encrypted before it is stored, which means Almus cannot read your encrypted journal entries unless you choose a feature that requires your device to decrypt the relevant content for processing.
Because your private password protects your journal, you are responsible for keeping it safe. If you lose it, Almus may not be able to recover encrypted journal content for you.
AI processing
When you use AI features, Almus sends only the content needed to answer your request or generate the requested reflection. We do not use your journal entries or prompts to train our own models, and we configure AI processing for zero data retention and no training where provider controls allow it.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Almus, including providers for hosting, database and storage infrastructure, authentication, email, analytics, error reporting, payments, notifications, and AI processing. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Almus.
Data sharing
We do not sell your sensitive journal data. We may share information only when needed to operate Almus, comply with law, protect users and the service, investigate security or abuse issues, complete a business transfer, or follow your direction.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information associated with your account. Some encrypted journal content may require your private password to access or decrypt.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Almus changes. The latest version will be posted on this page. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hi@almus.ai.
These privacy terms are part of your use of Almus. You can also review our Terms of Use.
